Loving Right Now / Beauty Preview

I hope everyone had a great weekend! Right now I'm loving Diptyque Feu de Bois and Lumira Tahitian Coconut for the home. For lips I've been obsessed with Tom Ford In the Buff Sheer Lip Color - it is the perfect soft nude for me, most of the colors from the spring collection are sold out but you can still find this one at NordstromNeiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman (Bergdorfs has a beauty GWP going on).

I attended a small Chanel event at my local Neiman Marcus a few weeks ago and the artist used Chanel Utopia Illusion d'Ombre all over the lids with a bit of Chanel Les Beiges No. 40 as a contour and a black liner. It was so simple but really pretty and polished. Since then I've been wearing Utopia almost every other day. I've also found myself wearing Chanel Les Beiges powders on the face on a daily basis. I use No. 20 for a soft setting powder and darker ones in No. 30 and 40 to add warmth and contour (swatches of all three from last year here). The summer Multi-Colour No. 02 is also a new favorite for bronzing. It's listed as limited-edition on Chanel.com so I will definitely need to get a backup.

For a quick preview on what will be coming soon on The Beauty Look Book, I purchased some items from Chanel Fall. Shown above are the three Le Vernis Nail Colors in Secret, Atmosphere and Orage, Glossimer in Rose Reve. I'm also working on swatches of Burberry's two new Sheer Eyeshadows in Storm Grey #27 and Graphite #28 (they're listed as being on backorder on Nordstrom, but I ordered one and it shipped right away, another option is to call one of the Burberry counters, Nordstrom San Francisco has both).

Last preview is that Tatcha has launched several Travel Sized Mini skincare items for sale. They sent me the mini oil for review (feature soon) and I've already ordered three other items to take with me for an upcoming trip. They are perfect for travel or to try something out before committing to the full size.

For non-beauty loves, I'm loving nude pinks for accessories. Also bookmarking lots of items in J.Crew's Style Guide for summer (have you checked out their blog?).

Stay tuned for the reviews soon!

  7. I also use Chanel Les Beiges on a daily basis now and actually was thinking about back up for bronzer 02 as well. I use #10 as a setting powder, 02 as a bronzer and 01 as my sunscreen protection update about every 2-3 hours. Loved Chanel nail polish in Atmosphere, but I just got yesterday Dior Tra-la-la and Wonderland and really enjoying them. I pair wonderland with TF Paradiso lipstick and Cle de Peau cream blush from holiday collection. Use Cle de peau pearly eyeshadow with TF taupe color from unabashed pallete. Really love Chanel taupe waterproof liner on my lower waterline and thinking about getting Cle de peau cream liner for my upper line . And simply love and adore By terry growth booster mascara in brown for every day and Cle De Peau Mascara on my longer days or when I need more definition for my eyes. I really can go on and on:), so I better stop:)))

    1. Awesome picks!! Cle de Peau is one line I keep avoiding because I'm scared I will fall in love with the items but they are so pricey! One of these days I'm going to cave.

  9. Chanel fall was pretty much a fail for me :-( The only item I purchased was Atmosphere nail polish which I adore. I'm wearing it now and love the way the light plays with the duo chrome. I've also been enjoying YSL's palette in Avant Garde this week. Avant Garde on the eyes, Guerlain's Gloss D'Enfer in Guimauve Vlomp (what a name!) on the lips, Atmosphere on the nails. It all works together without being matchy-matchy. Fragrance this week has been Rive A'mbre.

    1. Ooh, I need to check out the YSL palette. I'm excited about the fall YSL eyeshadow palette as well. Guerlain's gloss names are so ... well, odd. LOL.

  10. Hi Sabrina-your pics are wonderful. Just curious about the Chanel RCS pictured. What is this shade? Thanks

    1. Hi! The RCS is Confident from fall, but the color is a bit off because of the shadows. It's not quite as deep as the picture shows.

  12. Whoa, whoa, whoa! Burberry is releasing new single eye shadows? Yes, please!!! Can't wait to hear your thoughts. I love their shadows, but the last one, Gold Pearl was "eh."

  13. Hi Sabrina....great summer pics! I'm also wearing Les Beiges powders. No. 10 all over and No. 20 for some definition and subtle contour. I received a couple samples of the Les Beiges Fluid and I love it! I'll be buying it this week and ordering the Atmosphere nail varnish as well. I'm might order the Orage, but I think YSL's fall color Bleu Galuchat looks more interesting....it's a must. I'm LOVING New Moon Illusion d'ombre. I like to layer shadow over it....it's very sparkly and I find I can tone it down by applying shadow over the top of it and still getting that complex shine and sparkly without being too crazy for day wear. I've been trying NOT to order TF's In the Buff, but my resolve is crumbling! I don't have a store to try it in person, so I have to order and hope it works. I really hate that! My favorite J. Crew related blog is J. Crew Aficionado. I read it daily for news of sales, garment reviews and all things related to the Crew. It's a great blog!!!

    1. I adore Jcrew Aficionado! I read it weekly :) I'm really interested in YSL's fall nail colors as well, I can't wait to check it out :) If you're unsure about Orage, I say wait. I swatched it today along with comparisons, I'll have the post up Thursday (fingers crossed).
