Happy Valentine’s Day! A quick peek at the latest from Chanel: four new Le Vernis shades in Attraction, Frisson, Distraction & Tentation.
I didn’t have enough time to take photographs of them swatched on the fingers before the sun went down yesterday. I did play a bit though, more swatches to come later. Initial thoughts:
- Attraction is a nightmare with streaking. Looks horrid.
- Frisson is sheer and requires 3+ coats to show up, but it’s a nice sheer shimmer.
- Distraction is a gorgeous coral with a fuschia sheen in the bottle, on the nails it’s more coral.
- Tentation is a fuschia/pink version of Rouge Carat.
These close ups were taken with my iPhone, sorry about the craptastic quality. I’ll get better shots later.
The one thing I wanted to post first was the comparisons for those wondering how similar/different the new shades are from prior releases. I hope this helps!
Your wheel swatches has finally convinced me I need to do the same with my collection. Just picked up the same wheels on ebay. Should be a fun project!
Attraction does streak, doesn't it?!!! I am not that good at the application, so thought it's partly my fault 😀

i had my eye on distraction when i first saw this collection. is it just me or are companies coming out with knock-out corals lately?
I'm wearing Distraction right now. It's an absolutely amazing coral; so saturated, it's practically neon. Get it.

So pretty, they look like the colors in a bouquet of roses! Attraction is the only one I didn't get, but I keep debating whether to go back for it, so am grateful for your honest assessment — now I think I'll save the money for something else! 🙂
I love a good white pearl, but Attraction is a definite no go for me. The streaks really look terrible. What a disappointment!
The lady at my Chanel counter yesterday showed me these…I like the soft white (cuz it has a sheen with fine flects of gold shimmers in it) and I like the hot pink one just cuz it's hot for summer. I think I'm going to go get the white one.
