Bobbi Brown Holiday Modern Classic Lip & Eye Palette

A few holiday sets are trickling in stores and Bobbi Brown's first round of holiday palettes are stunning. The one that caught my eye was her new Modern Classic Lip & Eye Palette ($75) which contains 10 different eyeshadows and 4 lip glosses. I found this at Nordstrom but don't know if other counters have these yet. I assume very soon if you haven't spotted them recently.

This comes in a similar size to her Chrome Palette from last year, but the colors in this palette are so much better. The shadows are to die for and come in matte, shimmer wash, metallic finishes. They are all soft and easy to blend with excellent pigment. I only wish she would release more singles instead of palettes. The lipglosses are very sheer but will look stunning over other lipsticks.

  • Regulars/Mattes: Ivory, Birch, Navy Charcoal (although this has slight sparkle), Espresso
  • Shimmer Washes: Antique Pink, Quarry, Heather Rose
  • Metallics: Oyster Grey, Taffeta, Gold Thread

The glosses (first three from the left are glitters):

Overall stunning and absolutely gorgeous. The shades were all swatched without any base or moisturizer so you can imagine how much better they will look when used over a proper base. The swatches simply cannot do these justice. Definitely a winner and a must have, even with the high price tag. It's extremely versatile and you'll get a lot of different looks using this palette.

The other eyeshadow and lip palettes were also to die for. I'm just waiting for another event/gwp which I believe will happen soon at Neimans.

  1. Oyster Grey is very pretty and unique looking. I think Paisley Rose also looks nice, but I wish she would release it on it's own because this is the second time I've seen it in a palette. Very nice purchase.

  4. Oh so beautiful! I have seen somewhere else the scans with the info about incoming holiday collection. I saw three little palettes with, if I remember correctly, 4 eyeshadows each. Did you see something similar by any chance at your counter? If so, are the colours worthy? From the pictures I saw, they seemed gorgeus!

Thank you very much for sharing!

  8. Great post. At first glance, the eyeshadow colors looks like a similar combination to the UD Naked palette. What do you think?

  11. Uuhh Aahh...
Lovely palette indeed. If I have UD Naked Palette and Too Faced Natural Eye Kit, can I still justify buying this BB palette? I do love BB cosmetics and from what I've seen around the net, BB will launch awesome goodies for holiday 2010.

  13. This is very pretty. I will have to take a close look (swatch) of this palette. Also, I did get a peek of the Chanel Holiday collection. I'm curious to hear your thoughts on that. The gift sets are perfect for my sisters.

  15. That is really pretty, they had all the holiday stuff out for BB here in the UK today, seemed odd to have it so soon, I only picked up the sparkle glamour quad.

  17. Amazing, Sabrina you are making us all so happy! I was so interested in this palette and am glad you had a chance to pick it up. Although typically glosses in palettes are a "no" for me, your swatches of the eyeshadows show me that this is a "yes yes YES!" Thank you!!

  19. So pretty! I just saw the whole collection today and caved on the warm eye palette. I can't wait to wear it! I was sorely tempted to get this palette but I just fell in love with the three metallic/shimmers in the warm palette. I can't wait to wear it! Hehehe. :D

  20. so pretty! the e/s portion looks like the NYX e/s palettes but I'm sure the quality is much better. I actually own very little from Bobbi Brown... weird!

  24. Hi ladies, sorry again. Late with the replies and responses will be limited to answering those with questions. Thanks everyone for writing a comment. I think BB has some lovely sets this holiday!

Almus - I don't recall palettes with 4 shades each. Perhaps those will come with the second/third rounds of BB holiday?

Mamavalveeta03 - Yes, I was surprised how good the colors were this time around. Sometimes her palettes are meh.

Catherine - I fell in love with the warm eye palette too. But I'm trying to not get it b/c I already had most of the colors.

  25. That palette looks so beautiful. Do you think the es are pigmented enough to deliver on NC40 skin or would they be to light?
