Paul & Joe Summer Creation 2010: Sahara Collection

Have any of you checked out the new Summer Sahara Collection from Paul & Joe yet? The standout for me is the lovely packaging in a turquoise, cream, orange and brown colored floral almost fan-like print. I had ordered a few lipsticks from BG during their last GWP event but at that time they didn't have the nail polishes in. I recently saw that Beautyhabit was also doing a promotion and was ecstatic to find they received the nail polishes just last week. I haven't been able to see the entire line in person yet (hopefully soon). But here are my picks plus the gifts from both Bergdorfs and Beautyhabit. My gloss and lipliner picks from the summer release was reviewed a few days ago here.

Lipstick S in Caravan 001 (sheer light pink shimmer)
Lipstick S in Morocco 003 (sheer bronzey pink brown)

Nail Enamel in Marrakesh 004 (coral-red with gold shimmer)
Nail Enamel in Mirage 005 (shimmery beige gold with silver sparkles)

The Gift With Purchase Makeup Bags
(Left from Beautyhabit, Right from Bergdorfs)

Lipstick Size Comparisons (seasonal v regular)

Nail Polish Comparisons, Close Ups and Swatches

Again, the packaging is the best part of this collection. I've only tried the sheer pink lipstick and it has a sheer glossy finish with noticeable shimmer (not frost though). I plan on trying out the bronzey one in the next few days. I absolutely love the Mirage 005 Nail Polish. It's similar to P&J Gilded 27 except the new Mirage 005 is more beigey. The coral Marrakesh 004 Nail Polish is lovely too, but I'm not used to coral-orangey reds. Perhaps it will look better on the toes.

  3. I love the LE Paul and Joe collections. Curious, are they still making the lipsticks in paper-like packaging? That's the only thing that keep me from buying.

  6. Swtest2Lips - Glad you found the reviews helpful!

Lakshmi - The beautyhabit gift is really cute but the bags are super flimsy, IMHO the BG bag is sturdier :)

Jeweled Thumb - Great question, I'll update my post. I was really excited to find these are in the plastic tubes not the paper ones! I feel ya on those paper packaging lipstick tubes. Not a fan either but couldn't resist previous collections.

BeautyOnTheWay - Yay another P&J fan! What are your favorites?

  10. Hi Sabrina,
I totally want to order some P&J now...but where can I do it? I really want the Bergdorf Goodman GWP, but when I checked on line they don't list P&J as a line they sell. Can you help me?
Do they have any Brick & mortar stores?
    Thank you!!! LOVE your blog!

  11. Hi Pinky33 - Check http://www.paul-joe-beaute.com/en/#/shop_us for locations.

There is 1 Paul & Joe store in the US (Los Angeles) but I'm not sure if they carry the full line of makeup. If I find out I will do another post on it. For Bergdorf you have to do a phone order and they charge a flat rate of $12.75 (I think) for shipping. I'm not sure if they still have the GWP going on, but if you call BG, ask for Hettie or Caroline.

For online, you can order from:

    www.dermstore.com
    www.beautyhabit.com
    www.theprimpingparleur.com

And there are some other e-tailers listed on the P&J website as well.

    HTH some!

  12. I love the packaging. I'm not thrilled about lipsticks anyway, since I wear only lip glosses but those colors could work. I think you are right, the best part is the packaging and I've noticed this a lot lately to many brands. Is not about the products anymore is about the packaging.
