The spring collection is lovely, but seems like an odd combination for a spring look. The pigment of each item is incredible. The eyeshadows are soft but highly pigmented and easy to blend. The lipsticks are full coverage and creamy. The lipgloss is semi-sheer and gives a pretty creamy milky pink look that isn't too milky like NARS turkish delight can be.
As you can see with some of the comparisons, there are definitely some close dupes in other lines. What's unique about the Dolce & Gabbana eyeshadows is the texture and finely milled shimmer which gives them that extra sparkle and shimmer which the camera can't fully capture.
I'm still undecided about the Apricot Blush - it just seems darker more brown-orange than I'm used to. I'm debating whether or not to keep it.
There were quite a few other new items in the spring collection which I did not purchase. All these were ordered sight unseen based on descriptions over the phone. The following items are also new in the spring collection (but not purchased) and there were several repromotes:
Ultra Lipliner
Nude Eyeliner
Glam Lipstick
Petal Nail Polish
Drama Nail Polish
Nude Eyeliner
Glam Lipstick
Petal Nail Polish
Drama Nail Polish

It all looks so amazing--plus now I want Nars Violetta too! :) Thank you for the gorgeous introduction to D&G Spring (and yes, that blush color is a little curious isn't it? It's going to be either drop dead amazing ... or not?)
ReplyDeleteGreat colours - Petal Lipstick and INnocent gloss are stunning! I bet they would look great together
ReplyDeleteThere have been so many beautiful purple palettes out lately - will you be looking into the Tokidoki for Sephora palettes? I'm considering the Diamante quad, but I haven't seen swatches or really heard anything about them yet!
ReplyDeletePrecious looks gorgeous for spring. =)
I do like the look of that quad, I will have to have a look at that at the counter.
ReplyDeleteThe blush seems like an odd choice for the collection with the colours of the eyes and lips being so cool-toned. It'd be interesting to see how it works!
It all looks so beautiful! I am going to get some D&G for the first time soon, everytime I visit your site I want more and more :)
ReplyDeleteWhat do Precious and Petal look like on lips? :) On your hand they look so lovely. Too bad D&G Makeup line isn't available in my country :(
ReplyDeleteLovely picks too! And thanks for comparisons! :)
