There's nothing quite like a Chanel lipstick to make one feel pretty and polished with just one swipe. I've been testing my new Rouge Coco additions and my love for these is still going strong. See a lip swatch of Gardenia #13 (Neiman Marcus' Exclusive) here and Sycamore #32 here. The biggest hit from Chanel Rouge Coco's line is the shade called Mademoiselle which was featured on the Vanessa Paradis promotional campaign.Mademoiselle (Shade #05) sold out at many counters the week these lipsticks were released. The sales associates I spoke to were all told to wear this shade for the Rouge Coco launch as the universally flattering color for all skintones. I haven't seen it on every single skin tone, but I think it's incredible how this shade looks different on everyone I've seen it on. In the tube it looks like a neutral creamy pink but on my lips it pulls more warm coral. On my favorite SA who has fair pink tones, it looked like a salmon orangey color with slight pink tones. I love the texture and finish. It has a full creamy coverage that's not too thick or moist. I wore this today blotted and it lasted more than 5 hours (until I had lunch). From what I can tell, it seems to be a cream without any shimmer.

I'm not sure how the color will translate on your computer screens, but on my lips, it definitely pulls more warm coral and looks brighter than it does in the tube. Unfortunately the photo wasn't able to capture it with 100% accuracy. It's not super bright, but definitely brighter than I was expecting from what I saw in the tube. It's different from anything else I own. It brightens my face with a healthy pink with a tinge of coral.
Here it is on me again:

Here it is compared to a few other Rouge Cocos from last time's post:

Did you get to try Mademoiselle out? What did you think? How did it look on your skin and what's your coloring?

I ADORE Mademoiselle! It is my HG lipstick...I think! LOL. It looks gorgeous on you. I want more of the Rouge Cocos.
ReplyDeleteThat looks gorgeous on you Sabrina! I haven't had a chance to swatch Madmoiselle on my lips yet but on my hand it did not seem to show up much (MAC NC43 skin). Will have to try a lip swatch before deciding... But either way I tend to prefer sheer lipsticks rather than full coverage ones so the Aqualumieres are still going to be my favorites.
ReplyDeleteI think I need Rose Comete!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love Mademoiselle--and it looks lovely on you too! On me, it's a medium pink creme wit no shimmer. It doesn't look quite as mauve on me as it does on Vanessa Paradis. It seems to look 'right' on everyone--how do they do that? :)
ReplyDeleteWow, it's so pretty! I heard some ladies saying it had a lot of brown in it, I never would have expected it to show up so coral on you! It's kind of exactly what I've been looking for (a light/neutral coral versus the really bright one I just bought)! I guess I really will have to go swatch it now.
ReplyDeleteI don't own it but I love the mademoiselle coco, I have been seeing this on other blogs and I am getting more and more tempted =)it looks gorgeous on you !
ReplyDelete"Mademoiselle" is beautiful on you! It is sold out at all my nearby counters and online and I am on the waiting list for it everywhere!
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting how different it looks on everyone! It is beautiful on you! It looks like a medium salmon rose on my lips.I loved it so much,I bought a back up. I really wanted to see Gardenia, but I think it is exclusive to NM? I didn't see it online,so maybe you can only order it over the phone? The other colors I tried were Ruban Rose,Perle, and Camelia, but Mademoiselle was(is) perfection.
ReplyDeleteI tried Madamoiselle and I really wanted to like it, but it was too orangy on me. I am fair with blonde hair and blue eyes - an NC 20. MAC viva glam in Cyndi is a much better coral for me. The Rouge Coco shades that looked best on me were Cameilla (such a pretty pink) and Muse (a really pretty pinky mauve).
ReplyDeleteNo doubt, Mademoiselle is a very beautiful and sophisticated color, and it looks gorgeous on your lips!
ReplyDeleteYet, I've tried all shades of Rouge Coco, and I'm really disappointed that there was not any shade that I felt looked beautiful on me. And I really wanted to get at least on Rouge Coco lipstick, hehe...
Mademoiselle doesn't flatter me at all, it's kinda too warm and brownish on me. :/
I just adore the Rouge Coco lipsticks! I'm waiting for my Mademoiselle to come from chanel.com. Also, the Chanel website has a really pretty color called Teheran that is limited edition and sold only on the website. It looks like a bright, pinky coral.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Jess comment above. I really really wanted to fall in love with this new line of lipsticks, but when I went to the counter and tube tested the colors on the back of my hand, I did not feel anything special about any of the shades. Nevertheless, Paris and 31 Cambon were nice if someone is looking for red shades, Legende for a bright pink...all the others did not do anything for me. I think I still prefer any Dior, YSL, D & G and Armani lipsticks before this line. Besides my personal opinion, Mademoiselle looks great on you! Thanks again for sharing your posts with us! They are great!
ReplyDeleteMademoiselle really is unusual in that it works with the wearer's natural coloring rather than covering it up. On me, it's a warm pinkish coral and on my friend it's a true warm pink, but on both of us it's equally flattering. Amazing shade! Because it doesn't have much sheen of its own, for evening I like to put just a smidgen of Glossimer in Water Lily (#112) in the center of my lower lip then mush my lips together.
ReplyDeleteIt looks amazing on your lips... you have great shaped lips so im sure you can pull of all colors!! xx
ReplyDeleteI love this color on you! I have had the hardest time getting my hands on a tester of this one. It seems to be missing from all my counters :p
ReplyDeleteI recently purchased this lipstick and I absolutely LOVE it!!
ReplyDeleteIts so creamy and it looks amazing with a smokey eye in the evening.
I am super pale and on me it comes out very similar to what it looks like on the model in the advertising photo xxx
Sabrina,
ReplyDeleteI love the color better on you than on me! It pulls on the orange side on me so I apply it on top of MAC's Soar pencil just to give it a bit more pink.
I have very pale skin, freckles, hazel eyes, black/dark brown hair and pigmented lips. I would have never picked this color. I asked the sales woman to chose any color and I promised I would try it on. I was shopping for an every for the office. She showed me the Mademoiselle No 5. I said, okay...but it will look corally and bad. I promised. I wore it around the mall and went back 20 minutes later in love with the color after seeing it a restroom mirror. Who knew? So creamy, so unexpected. My first Chanel purchase. Not my last.
