1) I have perfect pitch. It's a lot less cool than it sounds (heh). Listening to bad singing, for instance, gives me a killer headache and I look like I'm having a stroke cause my eyes twitch.

Well considering I do have access to everything you post...I think I'd have to say Edward Bess. I still have yet to purchase anything! I think an EB haul will be part of my Christmas present to myself =) Oh! And NARS St. Barts Multiple - I'm going to order it before Sephora F&F ends.

I love writing and reading - I typically only read non-fiction, philosophy, or literary/critical theory books. I love walking around the city, and whenever I can I cook. I LOVE to eat out, and I'm a museum freak. I also have a secret love for econ, so I love reading business/economy stories in the news. Oh, and I barhop a lot lol

ReplyDelete1. I'm convinced life is indeed one big adventure. My engagement ended, I lost my job, moved across country and - after so much heartache - am living every moment in my life to the fullest.

3. Just moved to Washington, DC area from Atlanta last February.

ReplyDelete1) I was born in New Jersey, and grew up there and in Ohio, but when I went to Taiwan for ~8 weeks after my high school graduation, not ONE person I interacted with guessed I was from the US. I learned Mandarin from my mom (Taiwanese) and dad (family from Hunan province). I got Beijing a lot, Singapore, even Malaysia and Indonesia, but no one could pin me down. :D

But... probably my new Tsumori Chisato for Shu Uemura stardust highlighter and Shu Uemura Fleur de Source palette top the list. Also, my MotoJewelry, my EkiLove cosmetic pouch, Laura Mercier blushes and stickglosses (the BEST lipstick formula I've ever tried!), as well as the gorgeous purple silk headband I picked up today. =) And oooh, my new shampoo massager. :D

1. The Dior Lash Essentials Kit and the Sephora Favorites Lash stash over at Sephora (got it with the FF deal). Love trying new mascaras!!!
2. A couple drugstore lipsticks actually - I got a Maybelline Colorsensational lipstick in Nearly There, and it turned out to be an amazing perfect nude lippie for me!
3. My pairs of skinny pencil jeans from the Victoria's Secret catalog - recently I lost about 30 pounds and it great wearing cute little outfits again!!!!

Um, basically I write and read. I do this all day as a medical writer, but then I read or write for pleasure in the evenings too!! In addition, I practice Ashtanga Yoga and I try to practice 4 times a week at least. Finally, I looooooove trying new restaurants and love to find good ones!

4) I just moved into an apartment by myself, so I bought a ton of stuff at Ikea a few weeks ago. But mostly, I buy makeup! Recently I have bought the Tsumori Chisato for Shu Uemura lipstick and highlighter, MAC Dsquared/Style Black things, and my Sephora FF haul which included those cute Stila holiday smudgepots and a few new Sephora by OPI polishes. I am also waiting on Beaute stains and glosses from the Fairest in the mail.
5) Everything I see I want! But right now, I really want one of those Edward Bess lippies! And I would love to try out some of the new Paul & Joe lip lacquers as well.
6) My wishlist is always a mile long, but right now, I need the new Guerlain Bal de Nuit Eyeshadow Palette in my life. I am also looking for a new fragrance for the colder months, and money would be nice!
7) I am obsessed with beauty. I read a few good blogs daily and add to my stash on the regular. I also like to practice escapism by reading books and watching movies. I particularly enjoy reading memoirs and watching documentaries. My passion is psychology. The things I have been through in my own life, and the people I have met along the way have inspired me to finish my degree so I can work in the field. My bookshelf looks like the Psychology/Self-Help section at Borders!

I'm a science geek! I got my bachelors degree in nuclear engineering from MIT, and then got my Ph.D. in biomedical physics at UCLA in 2001. I worked as a cancer biologist for a number of years and then became a science/medical writer in 2007. Now I work for a university department that is involved in regenerative medicine - that means we are researching ways to "grow" new organs for people who need them (so sci-fi, huh?)... we are actually going to be on 60 Minutes in November!

Let's see. I bought the Naughty Noir Eye Bag from MAC, which is super cute. I've also been on a nail polish kick and I've bought several awesome colors from Zoya and China Glaze (I'm wearing Zoya's "Ki" right now, and it's this amazing purple with a green duochrome shine... fun!). And I got these amazing, sexy, black lace up platform heels at Target of all places - they are hot, and I have gotten chased down several times and asked where I got them. Not bad for about $20!

I've been intrigued by the Bobbi Brown stuff (the new eye/lip palettes, shimmerbricks) and went to check it out at the counter, but I haven't bought them yet because they are pretty expensive.
